 How important is ethical fashion?

The need for ethical practices and productions in the fashion industry is more important than ever. With it being one of the largest industries in the world, it is also the most polluting to the planet and exploitive to the people who work there. Most products are designed prioritising the profit with no consideration for the impact on the planet. But at Pioneer Clothing, we are committed to changing the narrative and we have made it our mission to lead by example.

Our Commitment to sustainable materials.

Supporting ethical practices has been our key priority in the production of all of our products. Our Seamless collection was specially designed and produced using Q-NOVA recycled fibres. Q-NOVA, made by Fulgar, is a recycled soft polyamide. The manufacturing behind this polyamide promises zero waste and no harmful admissions in every step of production, which is why we chose to use their materials in the making of our products.

As part of our mission, we choose to partner with companies to support the clean-up of our seas. Ocean Bottle is a company that cleans our waters through the collection of plastics. They promise that every bottle purchased goes towards funding the collection of 1000 plastic bottles from the sea and they have removed 13 million kilos from their sales.

At Pioneer Clothing we realise the people who make the clothes are as important as the people who wear them. We are committed to making sure we follow fair labour practices through all steps of the supply chain. This is how we do it:

• Ethical manufacturing: We partner with factories that practice the highest standards of ethical labour. We know that the makers of Pioneer Clothing are all working in comfortable and safe environments, with fair pay and reasonable working hours.
• Keeping to our word: We believe in being 100% transparent with you! On our websites and social media, you can find information about how our clothes are produced and the standards we have in place to ensure ethical production.

 

Reducing our environmental footprint.

Supporting ethical practices also means taking responsibility for the environmental impact of the fashion industry. In every stage of production, we have taken steps to ensure that there is no unnecessary waste product, we minimise our carbon footprint and promote a circular economy.

We believe in product longevity. Our clothes and accessories are made to last, reducing the need to keep replacing. The seamless collection is made up of 50% recycled materials to help reduce the number of materials going to landfill.

Our packaging is also eco-friendly! We prioritise using recycled materials always and our packaging has been FSC-Certified and GRS-Certified.
